What it is
Bloom Autism Support is an app where parents of autistic children keep their child’s whole story in one place: IEPs, evaluations, school emails and everyday moments, dated and explained in plain language. A parent can find what they need, understand it, and hand the right page to the right person, like a one-page summary for a teacher or a doctor.
It’s on iPhone (App Store), Android (Google Play) and the web at bloomautismsupport.com.
Three ways to work together
1Study how parents use it
For graduate students, research labs and LEND trainees in special education, psychology, ABA, social work, nursing, public health or human-computer interaction.
Questions like: what do parents choose to keep? What do they bring to an IEP meeting? What helps them share the right information with a school or a clinic?
You bring the question. We’ll make Bloom Autism Support available for your study and answer what you need to know about how it works.
2Take Bloom Autism Support as a semester client
For marketing, public relations, design, business strategy and computer science capstone classes. Your students work on a real, live product with its founder:
- a brief at the start of the term
- check-ins along the way
- honest feedback on their work at the end
For a spring class, write by November. For a fall class, write by April.
3I’ll speak to your class
30 minutes, free, by video, or in person in South Jersey when the schedule allows.
For special education and ABA classes: the parent side of the IEP table, from someone who has sat on both sides of it.
For entrepreneurship and AI classes: how a parent with no engineering team built and shipped a real app on iPhone, Android and the web, using AI coding tools.
Parents’ privacy comes first
No parent’s information is shared without that parent’s own consent and your university’s ethics approval. Bloom Autism Support never hands over records. A parent who wants to take part in a study chooses to join it directly.
Who I am
I’m Silvio DiCristo, founder of Bloom Autism Support, with my wife and co-founder, Brittany.
Built by autism parents. 10 years in special education and ABA. Not a clinic.
