Free Printable Prompt Ladder Card for Aides

2 pages · print two-sided, cut into 2 pocket cards

A pocket card for an aide or para: the help steps from least to most, wait 5 seconds first, where to start for this student, and a tally on the back.

What you type stays on your phone.

How to use it
  1. Print both pages on one sheet, two-sided (flip on the long edge). Cut along the dashed line: two cards, one for each adult.
  2. Fill in where to start for this student and the praise words that work. Go over the steps with the aide once.
  3. On the back, follow one task across the day: each time, write the time and mark the step that was needed. Bring it to the next team talk.

Why it helps

Waiting first, and then giving the least help that works, gives a student the chance to do it on their own. When every adult helps the same way, the student knows what to expect.
